What actually happens when we say “press-in”?
The process is as follows:
- Put the fastener into the pre „drilled” hole.
- Put the sheet with the fastener into the machine.
- The machine presses the self clinching nut, flange nut, press-in spacer or crimp threaded pin into the plate.
- The self clinching fasteners have a special design, that the material of the metal sheet flows into the fixing grooves of the fastener during pressing, so that it is permanently fixed. No futher steps needed.
- Screw (for nut type fastener) or nut (threaded pin, screw) can be inserted into/onto these self clinching fasteners.

- It can press up to six tons (max press force 59.78kN) and has a throat depth of twenty centimeters. This means that press-in, flanged fasteners can be pressed into the plates as far as twenty inches from the edge of the metal sheet.
- The press is performed via a gear by a pneumatic piston.
- This machine has safety features. It is designed so that the human finger does not fit into the press aera.
- Another safety feature is that the machine can automatically press on the sheet, but weighs only twenty pounds. If there is an accident and the finger somehow still gets into the press aera, it hurts, but it does not break the bone.
- Pre clamping is very practical for another reason: it grips the sheet but does not fix the fastener, so can still decide whether to perform the press or make a correction and press afterwards.
- There are also accessories for this „smaller” machine. The C-shapes are used when the standard press part cannot be used because you want to press something into a bent plate.
- The third possibility is the small-box accessory: to press into metal boxes with low access can be done. Useful where access is very difficult.
The larger machine:
- It can press up to seven tons (max 69.75kN press force).
- The principle of operation is the same as the smaller one.
- It is used for larger plates because the machine’s throat depth is up to 45 centimeters. There are many ways to get the job done with this machine. There are many ways to vary the indentation according to metal sheet access.

- It can be varied in several ways. This way, a lot of tasks can be done with it. There were also cases when the fastener cannot be pressed into a folded box in any other way, but with our machines it is possible! In many cases, with other machines, this must be inserted before bending, which can interfere with the bending machine.
